Was das Gerät verlässt
- Fotos, Embeddings, Ergebnisse, Treffer, Verlauf: nichts davon, nie.
Privacy Policy
Velum scans your photo library for sensitive content and helps you hide the hits. In short: Velum does not collect any personal data. All analysis runs on your iPhone. No photo, no result and no statistic is ever sent to us or to third parties. There is no user account, no advertising and no analytics or tracking tool.
Photo access
Velum asks for access to your photo library (iOS permission "All Photos"). It reads photos to analyze them on the device and, at your request, marks individual photos as "hidden". Hidden photos stay in the Photos app's "Hidden" album, which iOS protects with Face ID or Touch ID. Velum makes no copies, uploads nothing and deletes no photos.
What is stored on your device
- An index of the checked photos: for each photo an identifier, its modification date, a numerical description of the image content (an embedding, from which the photo cannot be reconstructed) and the probabilities per category. This way a photo never has to be analyzed twice.
- Your settings (categories, thresholds, time window, language, notifications) and a list of the photos you released as harmless.
- A history of the last 30 scans (time, number of photos, number of hits, duration) and a technical log of work steps and memory use that contains no image data. You share this log only when you tap "Share diagnostics" in the settings.
All of it lives only in the app's storage on your device. "Rescan everything" deletes the index and the releases; deleting the app removes everything.
What leaves the device
- Photos, embeddings, results, hits, history: none of it, ever.
- App updates: At launch the app asks Expo (Expo Application Services, USA) whether an updated version of its program code exists. Technically this transmits the app version, the platform, the update channel, a random installation identifier generated by the app and your IP address. The identifier is not linked to you as a person. Expo's privacy policy applies.
- Purchases: Velum Pro is handled entirely by Apple (in-app purchase with your Apple ID). We receive no payment data and nothing about you. Apple's privacy policy applies.
- Crash reports: Whether iOS shares diagnostics with Apple or with us is your choice in the iOS settings under "Privacy & Security". Velum contains no crash or analytics tool of its own.
Permissions
- Photos: see above. Without it Velum cannot check anything.
- Notifications (optional): Velum can tell you when a scan ends in the background or when the night scan found something. These are local notifications created on the device. No push tokens are created or transmitted. The wording is deliberately neutral because the lock screen may be seen by others.
- Background refresh: The night scan runs as a background task while the device is charging. iOS decides the exact time.
Children
Velum is meant for adults managing their own library. The app collects no data from users of any age.
Your rights
Because Velum stores and transmits no personal data about you, there is nothing on our side to hand over, correct or delete. Everything the app creates lives on your device and is completely removed when you delete the app. For questions under the GDPR or other privacy laws, reach us at dev@fluxera.us.
Changes
We update this policy when the app changes. The current version is always at this address; the date above shows the revision.
